I have always enjoyed sketching and watercolors since I was a kid. However, last semester I took a class "Methodology of Visualization" at Carngie Mellon and it blew my mind. The objective of the class was to simplify and abstract each sketch into more basic shapes. This facilitates quick note taking and is extremely handy while storyboarding. And like the name suggests, this class helped me to step back and take a look at the bigger picture.
